Who we are

The Boilerhouse is the Data Controller for any personal data you give us or we collect about you. Our up-to-date details are on our ‘Contact Us’ page. 
We are a data ‘controller’, which means we are responsible for deciding how we hold and use your personal information.
This notice explains how and why we will collect and use your personal information and your rights in relations to your personal information. We may amend this notice at any time. Please refer back to this page for the most recent version. You may be notified directly of any significant changes which affect you, where we believe it is appropriate to do so.

What personal data we collect and what we do with it?

We collect personal data from and about different types  of individuals who use our website www.theboilerhouse.co.uk. We only gather the information we need to be able to fulfil the specific service or any other legitimate purposes. These purposes, the specific data we collect and the lawful basis for each are set out below:

1. Cookies

Cookies are files that store information on your hard drive or browser; they can store your preferences thereby making our website easier to use.  If you prefer not to receive cookies, you can adjust your own browser to refuse cookies, or to warn you when cookies are being used.  Disabling cookies may result in our website working less efficiently.
During your use of our website you may be delivered cookies by third-party websites. This may happen on pages that offer video from third-party providers, for examples, YouTube. The Boilerhouse does not control those cookies so you should check those third-party websites (e.g. YouTube) for more information about their cookies. We do not currently use video from any third-party on our website but we may from time to time.

2. Subscribers, Online customers or Account holders

Please note we currently have no subscribers, online customers or account holders associated with our website and we therefore do not have any associated data retained for these features.

3. Contact Us - email enquiries

Where you submit your personal information to us by email, we collect the following data for the on-going purpose of contacting you to respond to your enquiry or project:

  • email address
  • any personal details as specified by you in your email for contact or project purposes

4. Automated decision-making and Profiling

No automated decisions or Profiling are made on the personal data collected and processed as described above.

Who sees my data?

Your data is delivered to The Boilerhouse, is held securely and is not accessed or shared by any Third Parties, this includes no international transfer of your data.

We aim to keep your data secure for the purposes of:

  • contacting you in relation to your project(s); and
  • delivering good customer service on projects we undertake for you 

How long do we keep data?

We only hold your information for as long as is necessary for the purpose it was collected. When we no longer need the data for that purpose, we will either delete or destroy it.  If you withdraw consent you have given, or ask us not to have any further contact with you, we may keep only basic information in order to avoid any mistakes where we might otherwise send you unwanted communications in the future.

What are my rights over access to the data you hold on me?

If we are processing your data on the basis of your consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time. You can also object to the use of your personal data at any time, where we have based our processing on legitimate interest. This may mean however, that we are no longer able to provide you with a particular service or communication where the information processing is an integral part of the service.  We will tell you if this is likely to be the case.

  • To have any inaccuracies corrected
